Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Verifence platform, website, and API (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using Verifence you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have the authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of yourself or your organization, and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The service
Verifence provides a trust and safety platform that includes document scanning, URL scanning, email validation, Shield CAPTCHA bot protection, and brand monitoring tools, accessible via a web interface and REST API.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Where possible we will provide advance notice of significant changes.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys. Do not share API keys with unauthorized parties. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date. We may suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Submit content you do not have the right to process
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract threat intelligence data for redistribution
- Abuse rate limits or circumvent access controls
- Conduct denial-of-service attacks against the platform or third-party services
- Use the Service to facilitate malicious activity against others
- Resell or sublicense API access without our written consent
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions without prior notice.
5. Credits & billing
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law or as described in our refund policy.
Credits are allocated monthly and do not roll over to the following billing period unless your plan explicitly states otherwise. Shield CAPTCHA verifications are counted separately from scanning credits.
We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
6. Intellectual property
Verifence and its licensors own all rights in the Service, including software, algorithms, brand assets, and documentation. Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of any part of the Service.
You retain ownership of the content you submit for scanning. By submitting content you grant us a limited license to process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
Scan results and verdicts are provided for your use. You may not redistribute or resell verdicts as a standalone product.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
Scan verdicts are provided for informational purposes. Verifence does not guarantee that all threats will be detected or that all detections are accurate. You are responsible for the final decision on how to act on scan results.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Verifence and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may cancel your account at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease and your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
